The Mammoth Philosophy

Muda.

Mammoth's philosophy can be summarized by one word: "muda." "Muda" is a term used at Toyota to mean: "eliminate waste and anything else that does not provide value to the customer." All Mammoth attorneys were trained at big international law firms, which to us seemed to believe in "anti-muda." That is, big international law firms spend an extraordinary amount of money on things that provide no value to clients, like expensive artwork, expensive office space in expensive parts of expensive cities, large numbers of unnecessary support staff who are used to augment billable time, and bloated salaries for beginning associates with no experience. By our calculations, fully 2/3rds of a billable hour is spent on this "anti-muda." So why should a client pay for all this "anti-muda" just to get top legal talent? We agree. At Mammoth, we believe in muda and only spend money on things that bring value to the client so that our costs are low and so that our fees are low.

Predictability.

Your palms are sweaty and your stomach is in knots. But this isn't your wedding. You are about to open your latest bill from a big international law firm. At Mammoth, with our fixed fee and subscription services you will know what your legal costs are before you engage us.

Proactive Clients.

Mammoth believes that well-informed and legally-educated clients are one of the best weapons in the fight against "anti-muda." The more you know about the law, the better your business decisions will be and the better able you will be in keeping your legally costs under control. Six Sigma and Legal Practice.

These terms aren't used very often together in a sentence but we believe that the legal profession shouldn't be immune to the latest best practices in business. At is core the discipline of six sigma in business means reducing variation in producing a product or providing a service. At Mammoth we practice law and extreme customer service by reducing variation in the time we respond to clients, variation in how a client's agreement collection interconnect and a host of other variations that traditional law firms believe don't matter but have a huge impact on you.
